A lot of people have already settled on their plans for the year and if you are looking to join them, we have come up with a list of some of the most amazing travel destinations for you.

    Kyoto

    • Population – 1,459,640 (2024)
    • Fun Fact – Kyoto means “Capital City and was once actually the capital city of Japan.

    Kyoto has been the go-to destination for tourists for a long time now. The city, with its endless charm and ancient history, has attracted millions of people from around the world for years. The city is home to a lot of gardens, palaces, shrines and Buddhist temples. Quite a few of these sites/monuments have been designated World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

    Coimbra

    • Fun Fact – The University of Coimbra, founded in 1290, ranks among the oldest universities in the world.

    Spanning over 319.40 km2, Coimbra has plenty of archeological buildings that trace their roots back to the Roman era. The city was also once the capital of Portugal from 1131-1255 and its university played a pivotal role in the development of the area as a cultural center.

    • Fun Fact – Cartagena has the distinction of being the first city from Columbia to declare independence from Spain (1811).

    Cartagena is fast becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in Latin America. The city dates back to the 16th century and has plenty to offer to people who are interested in history and colonial era architecture. Add its wonderful climate to the mix and you can see why hundreds and thousands of people visit this exciting city each year.

    Buenos Aires

    • Fun Fact – Buenos Aires’ underground subway network is the oldest in all of Latin America. It was built in the year 1931.

    With Argentina pulling off economic miracles recently, a lot of people have started to make their way to the country and especially its capital, Buenos Aires. The city offers an exciting night life and a lot of modern and historical landmarks for you to visit. Buenos Aires also offers excellent accommodation facilities which makes it an ideal destination for millions of tourists every year.

    Almaty

    • Country – Kazakhstan
    • Population – 2,015,210 (2024)
    • Fun Fact – Almaty is known as the “City of Apples” due to it being home to wild apple trees.

    Almaty is the biggest city in Kazakhstan and it is responsible for around 20% of the country’s entire GDP. It is located at the base of the famous Tian Shan Mountains and offer stunning landscapes that are mostly untouched. On top of that Almaty is also home to great food and an exciting nightlife. The best part is that the city can be reached very easily and it also offers visa-free entry to multiple countries like, the US, UK, and Canada among others.
